What’s so funny about this? Egg hunts are a fun activity for kids during Easter. Hope you see the typo here. The sign should read “annual egg hunt…” Annual means once a year. Anal, on the other hand means having to do with your rectum. Note the comment, “I think I’ll pass” this means that I don’t want to attend. However there is also the parenthetical remark, (the eggs). Passing eggs could simply mean to hand them over to another person, but it could mean to pass them through the anus. And THAT’s what’s who funny!
FROM THE MOUTHS OF BABES
Idiomatic Meaning: When a child says something or makes a comment that surprises you because it seems very wise, insightful and/or honest.
Literal Meaning: Any utterance, sounds or words, which come from one or more infants.
Usage: Formal and informal, spoken and written British and American English.
Origin: Early 17th Century, British English – This expression is biblical in origin. It first appeared in English in the first printing of the King James version of the bible. It is a shortening and revision of expressions in the Old and New Testaments.. In Psalms 8:2, God ordains strength out of the “mouth of babes” and sucklings; in Matthew 21:16, praise comes from this source. Later generations changed strength and praise to wisdom.
Why is this funny? In the cartoon we see four babies on a stage in front of an audience, looking like they’re going to do a comic routine. Each one looks at a different member of the audience and makes a very forthright comment about either their appearance, their friends or some other characteristic. The words coming out of these children were “from the mouths of babes.”
Sample Sentence: Our 5 year old daughter interrupted my wife and me during a fight and told us we need counseling – “out of the mouths of babes”.

What’s so funny about this? Ahh love, it has no boundaries; neither does prejudice. Some people don’t want other people in their neighborhoods. There are many ways of dealing with this, but one way is to sell your house and move into a community which has restrictions on who may live there. In addition these communities often have electric fences and security guards to keep “undesirable” people out. These are called “gated communities”. However, as you can see from the photo, there are other communities that have gates and security guards who are there to keep people in and to prevent them from getting out. And THAT’s what’s so funny!
